Bangor in Winter

Bangor Maine Community

Home of Grace UMC on Union Street at the corner of Clinton St.

As you can see in the picture above, it gets cold in Bangor in Winter. It is always warm inside the Grace Church Thrift Shop. Warm People and Warm Heat too.

In the Grace Community, Saving Grace Thrift Shop/Warming & Cooling Center is open year round. You are always Welcome to come in to Visit or Browse the many donated items that may be purchased. What you buy at Saving Grace may help the Grace Community improve the lives of those less fortunate who are hungry and homeless.

Nestled snuggly at the back of Grace Church you will find “The Saving Grace Thrift Shop”. Once you come thru the door, located on the back outside wall of the church, you’ll be delighted to find a full service, “boutique like” shop which features household goods, new & gently used clothing, shoes and accessories for ladies, children, infants & men, jewelry, crafting supplies, DVD’s, books, tools, collectibles, furniture, antiques and more!

The shop is well stocked and delightfully merchandized with a reading nook available for the curious shopper. We also feature a warming/cooling center for those who wish to stay longer and get out of the cold or the heat.

Mission Church in the Heart of Bangor

race Community Mission Church Heart of Bangor (Some say Grace is the Heart in the Heart of Bangor)

Grace Welcomes You Always but please remember those that are homeless and hungry. You may Donate here if you would like to help Grace Church to meet those needs. Prayer is also a great gift. Thank You for visiting this page.

Also in the Thrift Shop are magazines, inspirational religious material and newspapers are sometimes available. All visitors and shoppers are welcome to partake and enjoy.

Families who are struggling financially can ask to speak to our shift supervisor about generous discounts. Volunteer staff are always happy to assist you. If you need prayer, that is also available.

Thursday-Saturday free bread, deli salads, deli cheese & meat is given away along with the occasional ½ dozen of farm fresh eggs when available. Unfortunately, there is not an endless supply. We need many helpers to provide these things. If you can help, please do. God Bless you for caring.

jesus-christ-shepherd-0601Thanks Again for Visiting this page and donating when you are able. Saving Grace Thrift Shop hopes you will drop in at least once a week for a visit.

We are open Tuesday thru Saturday from 10am-1pm. Closed holidays and sometimes for icy, deep snow storms. The weather is great now! Enjoy a refreshing stop at the Saving Grace Thrift Shop. This is your Bangor Community home away from home. Enjoy your visit but please care enough for your friends here and be sure to come and hear the word of God on Sunday Morning at 10 am. That’s all we ask of you for our caring and friendship.

thegateAll proceeds are given to Grace Church for their outreach ministries and donations are always needed and can be dropped off during regular store hours. Be sure to thank the Volunteers who help you when you come to the Thrift Shop. They are sacrificing their time and energy to make your life better. They care about you!
